How the pieces fit together
A useful learning order is structure first, interpretation second. Start with the four pillars, identify the Day Master, then learn how the Five Elements and yin/yang relationships connect the other chart components. More advanced layers such as Ten Gods and luck cycles are interpreted relative to that foundation. A single symbol rarely carries a sensible meaning by itself.
What to be careful with
BaZi has multiple schools and practitioner conventions. Automated calculators can also differ because of time-zone handling, solar-term boundaries and birth-time assumptions.
